Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited online application for selection of candidates for appointment as Special Class Apprentices in Mechanical Department of Indian Railways through Special Class Railway Apprentices’ Examination, 2014 (SCRA), which will be held by the UPSC on 12th January 2014 in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Railway Board in the Gazette of India Dated 5th October, 2013. Eligible candidates who wish to apply for this job, may apply online through the website www.upsconline.nic.in form 05.10.2013 to 04.11.2013. Other details are given below.

Eligibility Criteria
Qualification: a. Candidates must have passed in the first or second division, the Intermediate or an equivalent Examination of a University or Board with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination. Graduates with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as their degree subjects of the examination.
b. Must have passed in the first or second division, the Higher Secondary (12th) Examination under 10+2 pattern of School Education with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination. see more in notification.
Age Limit: Minimum 17 years and below 21 years as on 01.01.2014. Age relaxations will applicable as per rule.
Application fee: Rs.100/- either by depositing he money in any Branch of SBI by cash or By using net banking facility of State Bank of India/ State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/debit card. SC/STt/Female/PH candidates are exepted from payment of fee.
Selection Process: Selection of candidates will be based of their performance in Written examination and Interview.
